Updates and Praises

Ms. Kitty is improving and if she continue to improve, she will be moved in a couple of week to a rehab center in the same city as the hospital she currently in.

My Aunt K has been battling breast cancer for the last couple of years. When she was diagnosed she was stage 4. She has had a roller coaster ride with this terrible disease. She had a scan this week and received good news. The tumors they have been watching have shrunk 50 - 60 percent and the cancer counts have gone down from 178 to 91. We were so happy to get the news.

Prayers do so much and I thank those who have been praying for Ms. Kitty and if you would add my Aunt that would be great. A few more prayers going up won't hurt!

We did not get any bad weather just cold. So bundle up, snuggle up and keep warm!!

Totally Tuesday

Ms. Kitty update:
As of Saturday night, Ms. Kitty had been moved back to critical care due to breathing problems and chest pains. Overall, she had a bad day. I have not heard anything else but I will have an update tomorrow.

Mr. J. started chemo treatments today but I don't have an update on him either.

Bible Teachers workshop. . . .
was AWESOME! We learned so much, saw some wonderful ideas, and had a wonderful day of fellowship with other Christian teachers. Can't wait to do it again. The lady leading the workshop invited us to come to her house, spend the weekend and work to our hearts content!!

Sounds like everyone is having cold weather. Bundle up, snuggle up and keep warm!

Ms. Kitty Update

Ms. Kitty had her srugery on Wednesday and the surgery went well. Today they had to move her back to ICU because her blood pressure has been low. They are doing this as a precaution. She should be back in her room in a few days. The doctor told her parents that she will be in step down for at least 5 more weeks and then an extended stay in rehab before she can come home.

Now for an update on Mr. J. Mr J. has said that they found 6 different types of cells. The type of cancer he has is called small cell cancer. It is treatable by chemo which he will start on Monday. He will receive treatment for three days and will still have his PET scan next Friday. He is still not out of the woods and they will not know much else until after the scan.

Thank you so much for you so much for your prayers.

Tomorrow I am going to a Bible teachers workshop about an hour from here and I am really excited. The lady who is doing the workshop has so many wonderful ideas. I saw her a few years ago and I am ready for a refresher! I have been teaching for a while now and I am running out of ways to make my class memorable.

Tuesday - Prayers

Today has been a day full of prayer. Prayers for the president, for the former president, Ms. Kitty and another dear friend who has just been diagnosed with cancer. Prayers for the president that he may lead the country in the direction that it needs to go. I did not choose this man as our president but I will pray for him daily. Prayers for the former president that he can now live a life of peace. Not many people could handle with grace the things that he has gone through in the last 8 years. Prayers for Ms. Kitty because she has been moved out of ICU (answered prayers) and because she is having surgery tomorrow to fix a skin graft. Prayers for Mr. J. because he was diagnosed with cancer from his esophagus to his lungs and doctors have told him that he will not leave the hospital. Also prayers for myself and my honey as we try to figure out what God's plan is for us and having children. I really don't know what to do and it scares me.

As I was cruising through blogland, I came across more people to pray for (I don't know them but they really need our prayers). If you have a chance, please go visit these new parents and their babies. The first is Kelly at http://www.kellyskornerblog.com/ and then Jenna at http://www.jennasjourneyblog.blogspot.com/.

Our God is AWESOME!

Today my honey, mom, dad and I went to see Ms. Kitty's parents (she is still in ICU). They didn't know we were coming so they were so surprised when we showed up in the waiting room. We were so excited by the progess Ms. Kitty is making. Here is the announcement I have put in our church bulletin for tomorrow.

Ms. Kitty is showing tremendous improvement over the last few days. She will be undergoing surgery on Monday for the final skin graft. She has had her catheter, trache, and feeding tube removed. She walked 30 steps today, has taken a shower, eaten mac & cheese and mashed potatoes. She is also able to speak in a whisper. They are getting her glaucoma under control. Giggles Mom and Giggles were able to go in and visit with Ms. Kitty for a few minutes and she wanted this to pass along that she loves and misses everyone, thanks you for your prayers and can’t wait to be back at church.

We were so happy that she agreed to allow us to go visit her. Her mom wanted us to give Ms. Kitty the pictures we had taken of DJ (her kitty) and of all the ladies who attended our Christmas party. She was excited about the photo album and getting to see pics of those who love her. Ms. Kitty's mom told her about me writing on my blog about her ordeal and she has ask me to print out copies of what I had written SO, I would love it if you could send her well wishes if you have the chance. She is such a special lady and it would mean a lot to her.

It was AWESOME to see what the power of prayer and God's hand can do for those we love who are hurting. I promise to keep everyone up to date on her progress. Thank you for your prayers and well wishes. You all are wonderful! :)

Fabulous Friday

Even though the weather today was cold and dreary, I am so glad that it is Friday. It is a long weekend so I get to spend extra time with my honey! Tomorrow we are going to see Ms. Kitty (well, really just her parents). She seems to have crossed another bridge and is making some improvements. Today my Mom and I went and took pictures of her kitty DJ so we can take them to her tomorrow. I also printed pictures I took at our Ladies Christmas party to take to her so she can see some of those who love and miss her. Please pray that she continues to heal.

Have a great weekend!

Today is Tuesday. . . .all day long!

Well, so far this week has been pretty well, boring. There have been no subbing jobs to speak of (not sure if my honey believes me! :)) so I haven't had much to do. I did finally got all my Christmas decorations put away, not in the orderly fashion I had hoped, well, the Christmas stuff did but all of the empty boxes, not so much. Instead of deciding what to do with said boxes, I decided that I was sick of being in the storage building so I stood at the door and threw all of the boxes in. Now it looks like I haven't done anything. Oh well, I did find my Christmas ornament from last year that I could not find and the new stocking holders that were hiding from me.
Now I should be working on my lesson for bible class tomorrow night but I am stuck on what I should teach. I have been teaching on Moses from the burning bush to the 10 commandments. I think, ok, I know that I am ready to do something else but I can not figure out what to do. I am seriously considering spending the next few weeks at least, teaching on the 12 apostles. I have two more months to teach (then I am taking a break. I have been doing this for nine months - I am tired) so I need to come up with something good.
Ok, gonna get back to work. Have a great Wednesday!

They did what???

Today my sister RAW and I were shopping at our local Macy's and she decided to try on a couple of shirts. I was standing in the doorway of her dressing room talking to her as she tried on some cute shirts (please note that she was wearing a shirt the entire time!). I hadn't really paid attention to the room next door to hers. Well, I heard some noises that sounded like rustling material but no one had ever said anything and we had been there for about 5 minutes already. I tried to peek in the door but couldn't see anything so I looked under the separating wall between the two dressing rooms and thought I had seen feet but wasn't sure. RAW ask me what I was doing and I quietly whispered to her that I thought someone was in there. She looked but couldn't see anything so she finished trying on the clothes. When she was done she got on her hands and knees and when she stood back up whispered that she had seen two sets of lets, one hairy with pants pulled down, one not and a pair of cowboy boots. We quickly left and decided that we needed to tell someone at the store. We told the sales clerk who said she would see what she could do. We decided to hang around to see if anyone ever came out. After about five more minutes, we decided that we were going to go back. I picked up a shirt to try on and a girl came out of the dressing room talking on her phone and wearing cowboy boots. I went on in and noticed a guy in the dressing room and went on into the other room. As I was pulling my shirt back over my head (thank goodness I already had it over my head), he quickly walks out with his head down and meets my sister in the hallway of the dressing room. We then continued to see them in various spots in the store. We don't know what was going on but with it being high school aged kids (RAW is a high school teacher so she knows A LOT about what they do!!!) we can only imagine. I am still in shock about the whole thing. It could have all been innocent but I don't really think so since they left at different times and he seemed somewhat embarrassed when we spotted him in the store the first time. I would have been mortified. Oh, what am I saying, I would never have done anything like that. My parents taught me better.

Have a great week.

Undecorating

Sunday I finally took down the Christmas tree. I hate taking it down, I love the lights and the smell. I have decided that in honor of the winter months ahead I am going to leave my snowpeople around the house. I have taken down most everything Christmas but I haven't got them put up yet because of the cold and the rain and I guess I was lazy. Maybe this afternoon I can get everything boxed up, well, probably not because I am going to reorganize all of my Christmas decor so I can get certain boxes out without having to take everything out to get to one box and then putting everything not needed back in. I had to do this several times while getting ready for Christmas and it is really annoying! Why is it so much fun to put up and such a pain to take down and put away?

There was sunshine today!

The last couple of days have been really cold, miserable and dark. (My cousin laughed at me recently because I was complaining about the cold, ok, so it wasn't as cold here as in Canada where he lives but it was still cold.) Today the sun finally came out! Don't get me wrong, I love the cold weather but I really like seeing the sunshine occasionally (or more often than that!!).
This morning I was looking at the local paper and when I got to the obituaries I received the shock of my life. There in black and white was my mom's name and obituary. Well, it wasn't really her (thank goodness), it was a lady who had the same name and was born in the same year (but 6 months later). Not the way I wanted to start my day. I have Talked to my mom a couple of times today and all is well with her!
Today I subbed in my dad's class. I was pleasantly surprised at how well the day went. His students were very quiet and did what was ask of them. Oh how I wish that all sub jobs were that easy!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I took this yummy dip to the Christmas party at Mrs. H's house. It taste just like what you get at the restaurant. So enjoy!! Oh, but if you have a blender with a low wattage, you might burn it out. I had a 350 watt blender and it died. I bought a 650 watt so I should be able to make this dip for many years to come! :)
Casa Ole Green Sauce
4 avocados
1 (16 oz) container sour cream
1 can Rotel tomatoes
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 (4 oz) can green chilis (I use jalapenos instead)
2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon lemon juice
3 oz cream cheese
Mix and blend all ingredients until smooth.
The end of the holidays. . . . .
Yes my friends, the real world has reared its ugly head and Monday begins the 2009 daily routine. My honey had to go in to the office for several hours today so hopefully it won't be too hard for him on Monday. My day on the other hand was an eating fest. My morning started out with my mom, my sister RAW and myself going to eat at IHOP. It was really good. Then for lunch I met my honey and my "adopted" sister LEH at a local eating joint (yes, it must be considered an eating joint.) called Pepe's. We had a very nice and yummy lunch. Then the in-laws wanted to eat dinner with us so we went to Cotton Patch Cafe. Needless to say, I am not hungry!! Anyway, back to the real world, although I will miss getting to spend all day everyday with my honey, I will be glad to get back on some sort of schedule. I will hopefully be doing much more substitute teaching.
Since we are two days in to the new year, I want to thank everyone who comes to visit my page. I hope to keep you entertained and up to date on what is happening with Life In My Lane.
Have a great weekend! :)
