What
does 90 years old look like? Well, here
is my grandmother who will turn 90 on Tuesday.
We had a surprise celebration for her yesterday. It was a lot of work but so worth it. She had NO idea what was going on and she
couldn’t believe the family and friends who we consider family that kept
walking through the door. We had family
from California and Oklahoma and of course but several parts of Texas. I am glad that I was able to “try” to put a
party together like my Mom would have done (she was the party planner and
decoration creator) and it was close.
But there were big holes that couldn’t be ignored made by the people who
have left us way too early.
I
was very lucky to be able to grow up right down the road from my grandparents
and spent a lot of time with my grandmother.
Although we don’t always see things eye to eye and I sometimes get very
impatient and irritated and feel pretty overwhelmed sometimes by all the things
she needs from me, I am so glad that she is my grandmother and that I have been
able to spend 43 out of her 90 years with you.
I love you grandmommy even though sometimes it may be hard to tell! You have done so much for me and I appreciate
it. I am a pretty lucky girl.
