More Weather Craziness

I am in a classroom today (I subbed in elementary music yesterday and today at my old elementary school), watching a movie when I hear something hitting the window. I notice raindrops hitting the window and when I walk over there, I see stuff on the ground. Well, this stuff is hail. It was a very short lived storm but it was really strange to say the least.

Congrats to my nephew TatorTot. He had a UIL competition today (I didn't have any idea he was doing it so I was very surprised) and he got 6th place in Social Studies. Great job kiddo. You are my favorite nephew!

I really hate trying to figure out doctor's bills and insurance stuff. The insurance companies seem to try to make things as difficult as possible to figure out what in the world they are or not going to cover. It all makes my head hurt.

And last but not least, I have to give my vote for Dancing with the Stars. I want Ty Murray or Chuck Wicks to win. But I am really pulling for Ty. The cowboy needs more recognition and this would do it. Go Ty!!

Hope you are having a great week.

Crazy Weather and Stuff

The weather around here is crazy. First off, the wind is blowing (23 mph with gusts up to 29 mph) and there is no need to try to fix your hair before you step outside because it won't matter. It is 61 degrees which is very different from what it was last week. I have to say that we are very thankful for the wonderful rain we have gotten this week. Everything is so beautiful and green.

Last week my honey bought me a recliner and this afternoon we are going to pick it up. It will be nice to have a really comfy (new) something to sit on. The couch I sit on most of the time is probably about 20 or so years old and is a hide-a-bed so you can imagine how saggy it is. Sometimes I feel like I am having to crawl out of it! Same with the chair I sometimes sit in. It was my great grandmothers and sits you even lower to the ground. Anyway, I am excited about my new recliner even if it doesn't really go with our early garage sale decor.

Congratulations to my cousin and her husband who adopted a beautiful little boy this week. Best wishes to you all.

I hope that this next week is better than the last ( I am glad that this week is almost over).

Have a great weekend.

Still here

Having a very difficult week. Is wondering why. . . . . . And being selfish (?) why me??

Hope you are having a good week.

Spring Break

Well, this last few days have been very busy. Over the weekend we were at a family reunion in the Hill Country. It was really nice getting to see everyone and to finally get to see "the ranch" that we have heard so much about. While touring the ranch we saw a grey fox, deer and wild turkeys. On Sunday morning my Uncle T gave the most wonderful, moving sermon that I have heard in a long time. I wish more people could have been there and heard it. He did a great job. We did a lot of singing (if you know me, you know how much we enjoy singing) and it was just like old times. I sure do wish that my grandad would have been there. He would have loved it.

Sunday we left the ranch and headed to Lake Buchanan for some camping. the park we stayed in was nice (we really wanted to stay at the state park but it was booked up) and we were surprised by how low the lake was. You don't realize how bad the drought is around us until you are at a huge lake and you can walk a long ways on what was under water before you actually reach the water.

We got home last night and the rest of the week will be spent getting caught up from being gone. My honey's dad is having surgery on his thumb so we will also be spending time with them.

Hope you are all having a good week.

Mission Accomplished. . . .

well, mostly accomplished. My mission was to get one of the 50th Anniversary Barbies for my niece Mad Cow for her birthday (at the end of the month). I decided that I wanted to get myself one too. Well, I was able to get one for Mad Cow this morning bright and early at Kohls. Unfortunately there were three older ladies who got the rest of the 5 that were in the store. I still would really like to have one for myself but I am glad that I was able to get the birthday girl one!

Yesterday was Tatortots (my nephew) birthday. I can not believe that he is 11. I finally finished up my birthday shopping this afternoon at Barnes and Nobles. I hope my crazy TatorTot and MadCow enjoy their gifts.

Ok, I love where we live but I really hate the weather sometimes. Yesterday we were in the 80's and today we are currently at 57 and tomorrow will be even colder. No wonder we all walk around sick most of the year!!

Well, that is all for now. Please don't tell me if any of you were able to get yourself a Barbie because it will cause me to cry like a little girl!

Have a great week!

Not much to say

I am on a mission. . . . .I will tell you more about it in a later post because I don't want to jinx myself. I am on a birthday gift mission!!

Today I had jury duty. I didn't get picked. . . .I have to say that I was kind of glad but the trial was civil and was only supposed to last a couple of hours.

We are getting ready for Spring Break and a family reunion and my week is quickly running out. To make things more interesting, we have been in a drought - not hardly any rain since Sept. and we were already behind when we got that rain - and we are supposed to get rain for the next three days and it is supposed to be much cooler than it has been (I am wearing shorts as I write) so I don't know what to pack.

Anyway, that is all for tonight.

Have a great week.

Happy Anniversary

to me and my honey. Today we celebrated 12 years of marital bliss. It is hard to believe that it has been that long. I am looking forward to many more years.

This weekend was busy. Yesterday we headed out of town so I could attend a baby shower for a college friend of mine. It was a good day. We then spent the night before heading home today.

Have a great week.

Sunshine

Wow, what an incredible week this has been. Our gospel meeting ended last night and I think it was the best one I have ever been to. As I said in my last post, if you ever have the opportunity to hear James Watkins, go because you will have an incredible experience. This man preaches God's word straight from the Bible in a way that anyone can understand. It was great!

The next few weeks are going to be so busy! My honey and I are going to an out of town baby shower for one of my buddies from school which is exciting because I haven't seen her since graduation in 07. Well, since our 12th anniversary is Sunday, we are going to spend the night out of town and just spend time together! The next Friday we are heading out with the camping trailer for Spring Break. Friday - Sunday will be at the ranch my cousin and her husband run for a family reunion. Should be a great time (finally get to see the nephew and niece again!!) with all of the family except for my other cousin's husband who is a doctor and has to work. On Sunday we will be heading off to the lake (with the trailer) to spend some time camping with my parents. Very excited!!

Have a great day!

Good Monday Morning

Well, we made it home Friday evening. We were so glad to be home. We had a great time. We are now into another busy week. We are having a gospel meeting this week so we will be busy with that and Mr. G will be busy catching up from being gone for 5 days. I will be trying to get my house back in some kind of order.

If you ever watch GBN (it is on dish network but I don't know what channel) and have the chance to listen to James Watkins preach. . . .stop and listen. He is an incredible preacher and we are having a great gospel meeting with him this week.

Have a great week. Spring is on its way!!
