No Title

Not much to say today. My aunt is a little strong today. Her daughter and her baby and her son and his family are there with them. I am so glad that they are getting to spend time together. Please keep up the prayers.

I have been kind of busy this week. I can't remember what I did Monday, it seems like such a long time ago. Tuesday and Wednesday I gave the TAKS test to one student. Not bad with just one student but got tired of sitting. Today when she finished the test we were able to get some puzzles to work on. The one we completed was of two panda bears and grass. For having only 100 pieces, it wasn't easy to finish!

Well, that is it for tonight. I am worn out and am ready to go to sleep. I really hope that everyone is having a good week. Hi Mrs. H's mom!

Today is a special day in history & Prayer Requests

In 1951 two lovely people along with an older sister and brother welcomed a beautiful baby girl into their family. She was a cute baby girl with very blonde hair and gorgeous blue eyes. This woman grew into a wonderful Christian example, wife, mom, sister, grandmother and friend. In honor of this day I want to say. . . .
Happy Birthday Mom!
I hope you have an awesome day.
Please know that I love you very much.
You are my hero!!

A while back I had ask for prayers for my Aunt K who is battling breast and liver cancer. Today we got the news that we didn't want to hear. Her liver is shutting down due to the growth of tumors on and around it. The doctors have given her days to just a few weeks. I am asking for prayers for her, her husband, two children and their spouses and for their two very young grandchildren.
Additional prayer requests:
My grandmother's great niece has been diagnosed with breast cancer. She is my age so it is really hitting home. She will be having tests run to see if she carries the breast cancer gene; if she does they will be doing a double mastectomy and a hysterectomy. If she doesn't it will be a double mastectomy. Her sister's 16 year old son is ill and will be going to Texas Children's hospital to have tests run. They think that he may have leukemia.
Thanks in advance for your prayers.

What A Weekend!

What an incredible weekend I had. The ladies retreat was wonderful. We had good food, good fellowship and not much sleep! Our speakers were great. EW who turns 21 tomorrow spoke about the spring of her life, JH who is 40/41 spoke on the summer of her life, my Mom who turns 58 tomorrow (happy birthday mommy) spoke about the fall of her life and CS who is 75 (hard to believe) spoke about the fall of her life. This was something that I really needed; the fellowship and talking with other woman. I have been struggling more in the last 5 weeks than I ever have in my life. I just recently was able to start praying again because I was very angry with God. The reason for the anger is that 5 weeks ago today, my honey and I lost another baby. I was 8 to 10 weeks along. I wish I could get just a glimpse of the plan God has for us concerning children. I am not getting any younger and I really want to be a mom. So, please keep me in your prayers as I continue with this struggle of what I want in my life and God's plan for me.

End of the Week Update

I won't be home tomorrow night so I am doing a wrap up of the week a day early. Where is she going to be, you are probably asking yourself (or maybe not!). Well, the ladies at our church are having a Ladies Retreat titled Bloom Where You Are Planted - The Seasons of Life. I am really excited about this. My mom is one of the speakers and will be talking about the fall of her life. I hope to have lots to talk about when I get back.

Today was a tiring day as I have started the summer mowing. I don't mind mowing but some days seem harder than others! Today was one of those days. The good thing is that I found 5 new baby trees in my yard. Doing a happy dance. I love trees and after having lost two big ones since I moved into the house I am excited! I didn't finish the mowing though. I ran out of gas a long time before the mower ran out of gas. I have about 10 more minutes of moving the "yard". Sometime next week I will get the area from the front yard to the road mowed and then the yard and such at the rent house next door.

Well, that is all for now. Have a great Friday.

Title-less Tuesday

I never can come up with a cute title for my posts. So I will make up words for today's post title!! It is mine and I can do whatever I want!!!

So, this week has not been boring but not exciting either. Monday I subbed at my old elementary school in the music class. I watched "Bach: Fighting for Freedom: 6 times and "Peter and the Wolf" 4 times then rushed to my husband's school (about 20 minutes away) to tutor my 5th grade reading students. The music kids were good and didn't cause me any problems. The 5th graders on the other hand are not interested in being in my group and acted like idiots. I was ready to leave them. Thank goodness it is only for 2 hours. Today I got a call from my honey who needed me to do him a favor. Well, I won't spill the beans on who or what in case by some strange chance someone who works with him reads this. . . . so you will have to wait to find out what I did to save the day! After finishing with that job I had to boogy back out to my honey's school for another day of bonding with the 5th graders. Pretty much the same as yesterday except I never once used my happy voice because they were being such dingdongs!! Well, I guess that is it for now. Jennifer, I hope you have an awesome trip. My state is AWESOME! Hi Mrs. H.'s mom! What book are you and your granddaughter reading?

Have a great week!

Spring Cleaning Gone Wild

My mom has taken spring cleaning to a new extreme. She is busy packing up everything in the house. taking pictures off of the wall, you name it, it is going in a box. She is so into getting the house cleaned that she is even taking up the wood floor and the carpet. Before you know it the house will be completely empty. Why you ask. . . . has your mom lost her mind? Well, no, my parents foundation has cracked. You know the commercial for Oshan that says. . . .Cracks are bad. Well, their house is cracked bad! It has dropped 3.5 inches on one end and 4 inches on the other and the middle is where it is supposed to be. Their house is long because they did not want to cut down any trees when they were building it. In one year they lost all but three trees that surrounded the house. That is about 6 huge beautiful oak trees gone in a very short time. Anyway, back to the subject at hand. Mom hasn't cracked! She is just getting ready to have the foundation fixed on the house and everything and I mean EVERYTHING has to be moved out. Well, we moved into the house in 1976. That means that the three of us lived there for a long time and had a lot of stuff! And then came the grandkids and all of the hobbies, scrapbooking, floral arranging and all sorts of interesting things for mom and NASCAR, well just cars in general for my dad! Thank goodness for the local Ace Hardware owner who has helped supply boxes for the packing (to buy boxes is expensive). Let me tell you that this has been a huge job and she is not having fun. Last week she went and rebuilt a downed fence just so she could get out of packing mode! Well, she needed use of the pasture also. Anyway, hope you enjoyed this spring cleaning story. Just for the record, I have not finished yet. I have lost my momentum and motivation. I hope this makes sense. I am really tired! :)

Hope you're having a great week!

Lazy Monday

Not much to talk about today. My honey and I went to a movie and that is about all we accomplished! We went to see Duplicity. It was a good movie and had some strange twists and turn and unexpectedness! I enjoyed it.

100th Post and Happy Easter

I can not believe that I have posted 100 blogs already. As far as I can tell, no one has died of boredom yet! I love reading your comments that you leave (I like hearing about those who read but don't comment) and I want to thank you for stopping by to see what is happening in my crazy life!

Today is a day that we split between our families (yes, we all (parents and in-laws) live in the same town but it doesn't always make things easy) so here is how it went. It actually started yesterday with us spending time at the in-laws house to celebrate the bro-in-law's birthday. We had a good time and great food. We had:

bbq (brisket, sausage & chopped beef)
baked beans
augratin potatoes
potato salad
cole slaw, onions, peppers, pickles, etc
and a very yummy lemon blueberry coffee cake

Then we hunted Easter eggs. This morning, we got up and went to church and then headed over to my sisters house for lunch. We had a crowd there! My parents, my honey and I, my sister, my other special sister, my grandmother and a college student who stayed in town. We had a very yummy lunch that included:

lasagna (mom)
squash casserole (sister)
green beans (sister)
corn (me)
salad (mom)
bread (special sister)
strawberry jello dessert (sister)
pecan pie (special sister)
turtle cheesecake (special sister)
Needless to say we have eaten well the last couple of days. After lunch my sisters and I hunted Easter eggs (always competitive) and then my honey and I headed home for a very short nap before heading back to church. After church we headed back to the in-laws for a quick visit.
Tomorrow my honey is off again so I get to spend another day with him. What a great way to start the week!
Have a great week! Thanks again for reading my blog:)

Fantastic Friday

Well, I have taken a break from my spring cleaning. My last rooms are overwhelming and I just haven't been up to it. I plan on hitting it hard on Tuesday (Monday is still a holiday for my honey) and getting done.

Have a great weekend!

Spring Cleaning Day 6

Well, today I did not get much done. I looked at what needed to be done and was so overwhelmed. I didn't even get my Bible study done today so tomorrow should be a busy catch up day because my honey is off on Friday and I plan on spending all day with him. I did look through my study for today and here is a question that was asked:

What smell, sight, or sound brings back pleasant memories of childhood for you? For me there are so many things that bring back memories for me and I am having a hard time picking specific things. One thing that always takes me back is the smell of horses and leather. I have always been horse crazy and spent all my free time on my horse. Growing up I dreamed of being a horse trainer. Isn't it funny how some of our dreams turn into something so very different. Now I don't own a horse and haven't ridden one in probably 7 years or so. But the sight and smell of those two things take me back to my carefree childhood.

I will have to think of some more things to share. Please share yours with me.
I want to share with you the theme verse for this Bible study:
"I've kept my feet on the ground, I've cultivated a quiet heart.
Like a baby content in its mother's arms, my soul is a baby content." Psalms 131:2 MSG (I do not know what version of the bible this is from.)

I am really struggling right now and I hope that doing this study will help. The book I am using is called "Cultivating Contentment". This is one thing I really struggle with but right now it is not the only thing.

Well, I am beginning to ramble because it is past my bedtime (ok, so I ramble all the time. I can't help it)! Oh, the picture is of one of my mom's flower beds and her cat Boots. She has the most beautiful flower beds. Her green thumb did not pass on to me! And as you follow along with my crazy blog you will see that she can do just about anything and usually does it very well. Especially her floral arrangements. She has made another beautiful arrangement for us to put on our baby's grave. I will have to post pictures of the new one and the one she did at Christmas.

OK, I am really done! Good night! Hi Mrs. H's mom!

Have a good day everyone :)

Spring Cleaning Day 5 (I think)

Well, yesterday I didn't get any cleaning done but I made up for it some today. Today I chose my honey's office. It is the least evil of the three rooms I have left. Ok, there are four rooms left but I have told my husband that he has to help with the laundry/pantry/tool room during the summer. One reason is because it is bad and needs lots of help and another is because there are many things that I can't reach in there. Anyway, back to the office. . . .I found the top of the two desks in his office. I still have a ways to go but I think he will be surprised when he gets home and sees what I have done.

My honey is now home and he was surprised with the progress I have made on his office space. Since he is home and it is about 55 minutes until we need/have to be in bed, I am ending this for the day. We are going to watch my favorite ventriloquist Jeff Dunham before bed!

Hi Mrs. H's mom!
Hope you are having a great week.

Oh, I did start my bible study today. Yay me!

Monday Monday Monday

Ok, I am going to have a lot going on in this post because, well, I can be very random some times! Our first subject of the day is . . . . . my mom's birthday. I really want to do something fun for her on her special day and to get her an awesome present to go along with it. My lovely mom will be 58 years young (and I mean young, I can not keep up with the pace she keeps) and is the most awesomest mom, not a girly-girl, super hard worker, gentle, caring person I know. I think I would like to have a girls day and take her to a really neat place (so I have heard) called Martha's Bloomers for lunch with my sisters but I don't think that will work because one sister lives about 3 hours away and the other one is so busy with softball season so, I don't know. Maybe my adopted sis and I will take her. I just don't know.

Next. . .I didn't get to any of my cleaning today. I woke up with an awful headache so I didn't get my day started like I had planned. I was going to get up and start a new Bible study about being content and then go for a walk. Well, I didn't get my Bible study done and I didn't get to the walk until late this afternoon. By taking my walk later, I was able to see a brand new baby. We have a beautiful new baby Hereford. My walk wasn't exactly as I had planned but it was worth it.

Today I had also planned on getting my resume sent out to some teaching positions for next year. That will have to wait til tomorrow morning. Let's keep our fingers crossed that I get a job for the next school year.

Our weather is all messed up again. It was very cold today (ok, it was 62 but the wind. .) and the wind has been blowing like no body's business. I don't ever remember having as much wind as we have had the last couple of years. I don't really like wind. I don't like my hair blowing everywhere and I don't like getting stuff in my contacts.

I have to toot my own horn a bit. I cooked an awesome dinner tonight (and my honey agrees). The casserole I made is so easy and is sooo good. Add some corn and a roll and it is time to eat. I will try to add the recipe if anyone is interested.

Day 3

Livingroom - check -

Kitchen - check
Bathroom - mostly check

I don't know how much I will get accomplished tomorrow. We are taking a day trip with my in-laws tomorrow. I can't wait to see more wild flowers as we travel.

Here are the bluebonnet pictures I took the other day. I will share some from my mom's house in my next couple of posts.

Well, I hope you have a great weekend.

Spring Cleaning

Yesterday I started my spring cleaning with a small step and today I jumped in head first. I tackled the living room. It looks pretty good. I do have a few odds and ends that I haven't gotten out like items that belong in our travel trailer: tire covers, sheets, dirty clothes hampers and gas grill. I also still have my snowmen and Christmas village in here. Due to extenuating circumstances I was not able to get those put up earlier but I hope to get it done tomorrow. In addition to getting the living room cleaned up I folded all the clean towels and put them away along with my clean clothes that have been living in the laundry room in a clothes basket. Plus I got my hair cut today and took pictures of the beautiful wildflowers along the road. I hope to get those posted soon. A couple of weeks ago I watched as a mouse made my living room its own personal playground. Well, today I had to dispose of it. Some people may be unhappy about using mouse poison to get rid of these critters but it doesn't bother me. Well, having to dispose of the mouse did but I am glad that he isn't here anymore!

Tomorrow I will be at home (not eating lunch with my parents) because the furniture repairman is coming to fix my new chair and of course the time they picked is in the middle of the day -
11:00 AM. I think that I will focus on the kitchen next.

For the last week and a half or so I have not slept very well so I am really tired. I am hoping that after having worked two days this week and then cleaning today, I will be able to sleep. Wish me luck!

Hi Mrs. H's mom! :)

Have a great rest of the week.

Happy April 1st

Can you believe that it is already April? I can't and thats no foolin!

Not much to say except a big hello to Mrs. H's mom! I know you stop by and visit. Please leave me a note sometime!

I am joining Mrs. H is her spring cleaning. I hate housework so hopefully this will help me get my unorganized house a little better organized. I gotta get something done to my livingroom because I have a furniture repair man coming to fix my new chair Friday morning.

Have a great week.
