What A Weekend

My nephew was in town last week and stayed with my Dad. They had a good time and I am glad that Tatortot got to spend some time with Gran. Gran needed it. Friday we headed north to take Tator home and to spend some time with Madcow and my bil. Of course we got away from the house late, had to go pick up the boy, stop by Mrs. H's house (and she gave us some very yummy cookies for the trip. . . Thank you!), run by the bank and then hit the road. We stopped for lunch, Tator's choice and then hit the road again. We of course got caught up in traffic due to a jack knifed truck (we found out later) and finally made it into the big city at 5:00 pm. A wonderful time to hit traffic and with some heavy rain. Made it to our hotel, unpacked and then headed to my sister's house. We visited, ate dinner and then took Madcow and Tatortot with us. We had to go to WalMart to get a few items and finally got to the hotel around midnight. It was late (or early depending on how you look at it) when we finally all got settled into bed. After a good night's sleep we went swimming for about an hour and a half. Fun times but they wore me out and almost drowned me on more than one occasion. We finally got back to their house, played some more Wii, visited with my Dad and my sister (not the mother of the kids, she was out of town), bil and my G-mom. Fast forward to after church Sunday morning . . . . . .we headed to my Aunt J and Uncle R's home for a mini family reunion with family who were in the state from Minnesota. It was nice to visit but these get togethers just aren't the same without my Mom there. She just brought something to the party that is now missing. It was great to see everyone but we were glad to finally pull into our driveway about 9:15 last night. Well, I hope you all had a great weekend too.

Wow, that sounds like a busy weekend! Always great to spend time with family...but always such a reminder that one everyone loves so much is missing - I expect it will be like that for us this next week after Jordan gets home. Oh my. Glad you had a good time.

Whew! What a trip! You must have been exhausted! So glad that you are back home safe and sound. I'm sure it was a difficult time but hopefully you were able to make some good memories...Praying for you, Giggles. :)
